Systems engineering is an interdisciplinary field that integrates various specialties. Systems engineering analyze the operational needs of customers, and, by applying technology, develop procedures and equipment necessary to meet those needs. With the global trend towards economic globalization, systems engineering plays a critical role in optimizing complex processes for higher growth in productivity and market competitiveness, widely justifying the existence of a graduate program of this sort.

The Master of Science in Systems Engineering Program is designed to offer professionals of different fields of engineering (industrial, systems, mechanical, electrical, civil, chemical, etc.) and science (mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, etc. ), a general methodology for making decisions in a complex interdisciplinary environment. A prospective student is required to have a solid foundation in mathematics and computing. It is desirable that the candidate is familiar with a high-level programming language and able to read and understand technical material written in English.
