The Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL) and the Mesoamerican Centre for Theoretical Physics (MCTP) are pleased to announce the 2nd. International Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Optimization, WAIO 2018. The workshop will take place in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas on November 8th and 9th, 2018.

WAIO 2018 will bring together Artificial Intelligence and Optimization researchers, students, and professionals with the goal of creating a forum that facilitates the exchange of ideas between both research communities to discuss the complex problems of today.

This year, WAIO focuses on state-of-the-art frameworks for Data Analysis, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence applications.  In particular, WAIO 2018 will address topics on social media mining, fake news detection, educational curricula planning, and intelligent data management. Furthermore, WAIO will host a discussion panel on AI opportunities and challenges in Mexico to increase the interest in AI in younger generations.

WAIO 2018 builds on the success of the first edition, which congregated more than one hundred participants in Monterrey, Nuevo León, México. WAIO 2018 is sponsored by the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (FIME) from Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL), MCTP/UNACH and the CONACyT CB-2013/220811 research grant.
